NRIA Collaborated with The American Cancer Society To Raise Money for Breast Cancer Research

On October 30th, 2021, NRIA raised $19,573.17 for the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer at MetLife Stadium, ranking first among the 155 teams partaking in the event! The money was pooled together by employees at NRIA, who wanted to donate to this charitable cause.

The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer program is an annual event that aims to raise awareness and funds to support research and resources that combat the dangers of breast cancer. This includes but is not limited to chemotherapy to funding a 24/7 cancer helpline. Learn About | American Cancer Society (acsevents.org)

We set out to raise $10,000 for the event, drawing from donations collected from company employees as well as their friends and family. We surpassed our goal and kept on going. Ultimately, we had raised $19,573.17, exceeding company expectations! We earned the title Heroes of Hope as a result of our charitable contributions to the battle against breast cancer.

In addition, NRIA served as a Gold Sponsor for the event. As a Gold Sponsor, we were given a tent inside MetLife Stadium, where we could personally meet, celebrate, and honor cancer survivors, some celebrating over a decade of cancer-free life.

What was predicted to be a blustery, wet day became one full of light, warmth, and hope. The event defied all expectations.

Employees and their families attended to both walk and support the continued battle against one of the world’s most dangerous diseases. Also in attendance was Miss Ocean Sands, who arrived to support NRIA’s efforts.

For our staff, the fight against Breast Cancer is one near and dear to our hearts.  So many people over the years have fought breast cancer. Our Chief Operating Officer Glenn La Mattina’s daughter is a breast cancer survivor.

We want to raise hope for those fighting and to help support the fighters, admire the survivors, and honor those we have lost.

If you would like to contribute to this cause, please visit the American Cancer Society website for more information.
